Employment Solutions
The Arc of the Ozarks Employment Solutions was established to provide vocational and related services to persons needing assistance to secure and maintain employment. Services provided are based on individual needs.
The Arc's Employment Solutions provides individuals with two choices:
- ENCLAVE:
Work crew of approximately 4-6 people working at various businesses in the community. Crewmembers receive individualized training provided by a job coach. This service has proven to be very effective in providing the necessary training a person may require if he or she chooses to seek an individualized placement in the community.
For many, working on a crew is a great place to start! Working on a crew provides opportunities to train in areas such as vocational and social skills, and in addition, working on a crew can contribute in developing confidence that will aide in success.
- INDIVIDUAL PLACEMENT
The ultimate goal of The Arc's Employment Solutions is to assist a person in securing and maintaining competitive employment in the community. Securing a job of ones choosing is perhaps one of the greatest accomplishments one can achieve. The Employment Solutions not only assists in securing employment; we also develop plans that will help a person maintain their employment.
What makes supported employment unique is the availability of on-going individualized supports for each person. Every person working on an enclave or individual placement has a Personal Employment Plan which list job related goals the person will need to achieve success.
On-going services can be provided for as long as the team feels supports are still required, and supports can be terminated when the team agrees the person has mastered the job and no longer requires supports!

It is possible to advance in The Arc organization by starting in an entry-level position such as this one:
Direct Support Professional
Work flexible hours with great job fulfillment. All you need is a High School Diploma (or GED), valid driver's license, insured vehicle, be at least 18 years old, and no felony convictions. All other training will be provided. Starting wage is $7.90/hour.
We have several opportunities available in Greene, Christian, Polk, Barry, Lawrence, Jasper, Stone, Dade, Webster and Wright Counties in Southwest Missouri.

Our positions, full or part-time, are available in group homes, individual supported living homes, community supports and supported employment. Excellent benefits are provided for full-time, and all positions have a training bonus available after all required training is completed.
