Camp Activities:

High Ropes Course

Nothing builds confidence, trust, and a serious bond like hanging out high in the trees together! The  Ropes Course has cabin mates work together as they go through an 8-element challenge course high in the trees! Challenging? Yes! Safe? Absolutely! Campers wear protective equipment, harnesses, and receive detailed instructions and practice from our stellar staff before heading up.

Waterfront

Wanna make a huge splash this summer? Island Lake's waterfront has endless opportunities! Soar down the 30' water slide, fly through the air on The Blog, climb the 9' Iceberg, or jump in a canoe, row boat, or "funyak" to learn proper boating techniques and safety. The water front is waiting for you!

Skate Park

10,000 square feet of skating heaven? Yes please! Practice your tricks or learn new ones at the Island Lake skate park. Bring your own equipment, or use ours. Helmets are a MUST, because let's face it – cool kids strap 'em on. Bring your board or blades, but please leave your BMX bikes at home.

Archery

Bows and arrows are all the rage these days. So learn proper form, safety and skills in the highly-supervised Archery range.

Arts & Crafts

You can't always show off the fun you had at camp once you go home . . . unless you make an awesome art or craft! Get creative and have a blast painting, beading—whatever your creative mind can think of!

Sports

Island Lake is filled with kids looking for the next game to play. Gather a few of the rowdiest and start a soccer match on the field, a 3-on-3 tournament at the basketball courts, or attempt to hit the ball over the net on our beach volleyball court. This is what summer's all about.

Bouldering Wall

Over 12 feet tall and 35 feet long, the Island Lake climbing or "bouldering" wall is the perfect place to practice your rock climbing techniques and hone your skills

Disc Golf

Fore! Get out on the Island Lake 18-hole Disc Golf course and challenge your friends to the classic camp game. Traverse the wooded course from beginning to end with the disc and a flick of your wrist; if you finish with the least number of throws, declare yourself the winner!

Company Description:  CRISTA Camps dates back to the summer of 1960, when a series of "miracles" made possible the purchase of 70 forested acres on Horseshoe Lake. That property became Miracle Ranch, a western style camp in Port Orchard, Washington. By 1966, Miracle Ranch was serving over 600 campers each summer. Fast forward eight years to 1974, and Miracle Ranch busily served over 1,200 overnight campers, 90 day campers, and 1,045 weekend campers – it had become THE place to be each summer!

Camping at Island Lake began in 1945, but joined the CRISTA Camps family nearly 30 years later in 1974. Island Lake's focus has been and continues to be creating an environment committed to challenging campers to grow spiritually and to build relationships with friends, counselors, and their Creator in a beautiful, outdoor, adventure-filled environment.
